Monoposto Championship Status ahead of the final rounds at Snetterton


Tough competition on the testing Silverstone GP circuit throughout the huge Monoposto entry has set up a cliffhanging finale to the St Cross Electronic Mono Championship at Snetterton on 7/8 September.

Mono 2000
- Kevan McLurg’s double win takes him into the points lead of from Robbie Watts, who had a difficult time at Silverstone. McLurg goes into the final rounds at Snetterton with a 9 point advantage.
- Malcolm Scott holds 3rd, also after a difficult Silverstone, but is being challenged by an on-form Russ Giles

Mono Classic 2000
- Ben Cater now has an unpassable lead, even if 2nd place Alistair Bell takes back the maximum 32 points at Snetterton, his 4 point dropped scores would leave them level, with Cater taking it on the tie breaker
- Lee Cunningham holds 3rd from SUNBAC NOVA leader Daryl Jones, who in turn is just ahead of Dave Gillett in this the biggest Monoposto class

Mono 1800
- Paul Britten is now unpassable in the points table, from John Whitbourn and Peter Bassill

Mono Ztec
- Marcus Sheard leads from Douglas McLay, but Sheard has damaged his engine at Silverstone
- Matt Hayes holds a solid 3rd

Mono 1600
- After his double Silverstone GP win Adrian Heath has build a strong lead over David Parkinson, but has not quite clinched the title when dropped scores are taken back
- Luke Rosewell and Eddie Guest are on equal points in 3rd, but Guest has 8 points to drop. Joe Venor also has this pair in sight

Mono Moto
- After Jason Timms double win at Silverstone, he has moved into the lead from Geoff Fern, who is now 8 points clear of Adrian Wright who drops to 3rd after a Silverstone outing which promised much, but didn’t deliver

SUNBAC Nova Awards
- Daryl Jones front-running Silverstone pace has a re-established his solid lead from Dave Gillett (both in Mono Classic 2000); after Gillett’s superb win at Combe
- After his excellent 2nd place at Silverstone David Gambling (in Mono 2000) is in turn now closing on Gillett
